Subject: SnapAMP Lathe

I am looking at converting a small lathe to CNC and am considering the SnapAMP. Wondering if anyone has experience with this and could give some reccomendations. Seems to make sense to have it run 3 motors. One large brushless motor for the spindle, and two smaller brushed DC for the X and Z axises.

So far I found these brushed DC motors for the X and Z:

Would anyone have an idea on what to use for the spindle? I would like to use the full 1KW of power, and am not sure of a good brushless DC servo in the 80V range. After buying the wrong encoders on my last build I would hope to avoid a similar problem.

Thanks,

Scott
